Get Involved

Are you interested in serving in a leadership position with the Virginia SHRM State Council or a local Chapter?

There are many volunteer opportunities available. Time commitments vary from a few hours of time to a few years.

There are Board leadership positions:
President, Membership, Secretary, Certification, Foundation, Legislative and more.

There are Committee leadership positions:
in these, you usually serve on a committee, sometimes as an occasional member and sometimes as a committee chairperson. There are usually committees for every function of the Council and for your local chapters.

If you are interesterd in serving in some capacity with your local chapter, please contact their Volunteer Leader Director or Chapter President and they’ll be able to assist you appropriately.

Welcome to your Virginia SHRM State Council website. We provide HR professionals with information on local, statewide and national HR events, resources, initiatives and legislation to assist you in your day-to-day HR duties. For those who serve on local chapter boards, we are also here to assist you in your leadership role. We are a 100% volunteer council that takes a strategic approach to advance the profession and serve the HR professional.
